Searching for Astro Community members to help with Seibert UI

Seibert Group is searching for Astro core maintainers and regular community members to help build the most sophisticated corporate website with thousands of sub-pages and 350 regular content contributors while contributing upstream to the community. We want to hire you as a freelancer and will allow you to contribute results back to the community and thus stay a relevant member of the movement that we all love.

We pay based on time and materials. You book your time in Clockify. You write an invoice. We pay. Apart from the usual German bean counters wanting tax requirements to be met, it’s as simple as that. You tell us your hourly rate. We pay. No questions asked.

We do not mandate when or how you work. This is fully virtual and remote. There are no deadlines if you don’t want to. And you can steer how much you contribute.

We fully exploit the power of Github. Just as the Astro community does. You’ll have issues there, create pull requests, we’ll have discussions and all work is in Github. Exactly as you know it from the core project.

You will be working directly with the CEO of Seibert Group, Martin Seibert. He is a long-time Astro fan. He will be your direct contact and will be able to make decisions quickly. He will also be able to provide you with the resources you need to make these your best results.

What you'll be doing

We are building a framework we call seibert-ui that provides components to our employees to easily build landing-pages and websites based on markdown files. We come from WordPress. Our employees shall get a first class service from you and other developers while benefitting from the latest and greatest in Astro website development.

I am not an Astro community member. Can I apply?

This page and the contact is for regular members of the Astro community. We want people who have contributed to the Astro project in the past and are well known. The minimum requirement is that you share your Astro badge with us.

I am very talented. I could do this.

Whenever we post an Astro related job we get tens of applications. We are looking for seasoned and experienced people who can lead the project. If you do not have an Astro badge at this point, please do not contact Martin.

Is this page what you are building?

Yes, you could say that. This page is built with seibert-ui. It’s fast and on brand. And the content was created by people who did not contribute to the components. Pure content editors. When Astro says “We want to make it impossible to create a slow website.” we would say “We want to make it very difficult to create a website that is not on brand and ugly.”
