Frequently Asked Questions

Plain-language answers to the terms of use and privacy notices and the terms for events. Every question can be linked to individually.

About your account and sign-in

What is the sign-in at customer.seibert.group?

A central customer account for Seibert Group. With a single sign-in you gain access to protected content on our websites and can book events. Sign-in works via your email address and a sign-in link — you don’t need to remember a password.

Do I need an account to see content?

Not for freely accessible content. For our exclusive content, you need a free account and your consent to personalization: this use of your data is our consideration for making the content free (see below, “Why do I need marketing consent for free content?”). This does not apply to paid offers such as events — you can book those independently.

Do I need to create an account to buy an event ticket?

Yes — we do not offer guest checkout. The account is the technical vehicle for your contract: it holds your booking, your invoice, and your access to the event in one place. This is independent of whether you consent to marketing tracking — that remains voluntary (see below).

How do I delete my account, and what happens to booked events?

You can delete your account in the portal at any time. This ends your access to the protected content. Events already booked that have not yet taken place remain unaffected — your attendance is secured.

About your data

What data do you collect about me?

Only your email address is required (for sign-in). While you are signed in, we record your activity on our websites. Optionally, you can provide information such as your name or phone number. When booking an event, event data is added (name, ticket type, and payment data for paid events).

Why do I need marketing consent for free content?

Because that is our business model. Other providers sell their articles for money — we offer our exclusive content for free and, in exchange, ask for permission to use your activity for personalization and marketing. This use of your data takes the place of a price (legally: a contract for digital content, BGB Sec. 327). If you don’t want that, you simply don’t have to use the free exclusive content; you can book paid offers such as events independently of this.

What happens if I consent to personalization?

We then link your activity across our websites to your identity and build an interest profile from it. This helps us show you more relevant content and find the right time for personal outreach from our sales team. For paid offers (e.g. a full-price event ticket), this consent is voluntary; for free exclusive content, it is the consideration for free access.

Can I turn off tracking? Will I lose access if I do?

That depends on how you have access:

  • Free exclusive content: you receive this in exchange for personalization. If you turn off personalization, your free access to this content ends. Your account remains in place, and you can turn personalization back on at any time to regain access.
  • Paid services and content you have already acquired (events, merch): remain unaffected — these are based on your payment, not on personalization.

Are calls with you recorded?

Not all of them – and only where consent has been given. The focus is on calls in the getting-to-know and exploration phase (“discovery”), whose outcomes we need to pass on and coordinate internally, and on calls used to train our staff. In day-to-day collaboration, in ongoing projects, and while delivering our services, we generally do not record – there, only where this has been agreed with the project participants. Where we do record, we have the call automatically converted into text (transcription) and summarized with AI support. This lets our colleagues document the call in a structured way without losing anything important – but the follow-up documentation is the responsibility of people, not of the AI. You can give your consent during registration in your customer account. If you have no customer account, we obtain it at the start of the call. Where possible, we additionally point out an ongoing recording during the call, or rely on the recording indicator of the system in use – such as the visible recording symbol in video calls. Without consent – and without the consent of everyone else listening in, which the law requires (German Criminal Code (StGB) Sec. 201) – we speak with you without recording. Details are in Sec. 6 of the terms of use.

How do I object to being recorded, and how long do you keep recordings?

You can object at any time: for an individual call, directly to the person you are speaking with – the call is then not recorded, or the recording is stopped and deleted. Generally, you withdraw in your settings (customer.seibert.group/settings) or by sending a message to datenschutz@seibert.group. Retention: we delete the audio recording no later than 30 days after the call; the transcript and summary remain in our CRM for the duration of the business relationship. At your request, we delete all of it earlier. This consent is separate from the marketing consent – withdrawing it does not affect your access to content.

Where is my data stored – in the EU or in the US?

Your data is primarily processed within the EU; our database is located in Frankfurt. We even operate part of our systems on our own servers in Germany (e.g. our CRM system, Twenty), entirely without third-party access. For hosting and operations we additionally use service providers with a US parent company. To the extent processing outside the EU cannot be excluded in that context, we safeguard it with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How do I withdraw my consent or exercise my rights?

Marketing consent: at any time in your profile settings (for free exclusive content, this ends your free access as described above; paid services remain unaffected). For access, rectification, erasure, or other data subject rights, contact datenschutz@seibert.group. You can reach our Data Protection Officer at dsb@seibert.group.

About events

Who is Kegon AG and why does it receive my data?

Kegon AG is a company affiliated with us and participates in the content and organizational delivery of Tools4AITeams (T4AT) as a processor. For this, it receives the attendee data required — exclusively on our instructions and on our behalf. Kegon only contacts you itself if you have separately consented to this. Seibert Group GmbH alone remains the contracting party for your ticket purchase.

Why is the cheaper ticket tied to the use of my data?

Our events are part of our marketing and heavily subsidized — even the paid ones. For the discounted Community ticket, using your data for our marketing is the consideration for that subsidy. If you’d rather not, you can instead choose the regular full-price ticket — without this use of your data. You always have a free choice.

Can I attend without consenting to the use of my data?

Yes — with the regular full-price ticket. The Community ticket is the subsidized route, for which the use of your data is a precondition. Both routes lead to attendance; they differ only in price and in the use of your data.

Does this model also apply to free events?

Yes. There, too, you have a choice: the free Community ticket, for which the use of your data for marketing is the consideration for free attendance — or a regular ticket at the stated attendance price, without this use of your data.

Will I be photographed or filmed at the event?

We take photos and videos at our events for reporting and marketing — on the basis of legitimate interest; we inform you about this during the booking process and on site. If you do not want to appear on our social media channels, wear a color-coded lanyard on site — our photographers and videographers will then filter you out of the recordings. Important: this marker applies only to our own teams. Many other attendees also take photos and videos at our events — we cannot guarantee that you will not appear in their recordings. You can object to the processing by us at any time via datenschutz@seibert.group.

Can I cancel or transfer my ticket?

A refund of the ticket price is generally only available if the event is cancelled or postponed. However, you can transfer your ticket to another person (up to twice since purchase). Event-specific cancellation deadlines are stated in the description of the respective event. Details in our terms and conditions for event tickets.

Why don't I have a statutory right of withdrawal for an event ticket?

For events with a fixed date, the law (BGB Sec. 312g(2) no. 9) does not provide for a 14-day right of withdrawal — this applies equally to concerts, seminars, and conferences. We inform you of this during the booking process and voluntarily grant you fair cancellation terms.
